Τhe 2-113th Infantry Battalion prepares soldiers mentally and physically for their upcoming deployment during annual training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix- Lakehurst, NJ in August of 2018.
During annual training soldiers experience long days, little sleep and challenges that will push them to their limits in order to enhance their abilities as a soldier. Some of the challenges included: 10mile road marches, day and night live fire training, land navigation, physical readiness and leadership training.
Leadership training is one of the most important aspects of mission readiness. By teaching and encouraging soldiers to become better leaders they will not only be prepared for battlefield situations, but they will grow their all-around character as both citizens and soldiers.
“Train how you fight” is a preparation tool the 2-113th uses to help ready the mindset of its soldiers, so that they are equipped for any and all situations. This motto is just one of the many examples of how serious the 2-113th takes their training exercises in order to ensure the constant safety of their soldiers.
Safety and mission readiness are amongst the top priorities of the 2-113th Infantry Battalion.
“The more prepared we are to fight, the less likely we will have to.”
